Pressrelease dd 07-01-2021

Dutch companies Marteq BV and Highrise BV join forces. Partnership Strongbridge supplies high-end work bridges to the maritime-, offshore, and industrial sectors. These Strongbridges are light and strong aluminium structures, designed and fabricated to the most stringent certification codes.

Marteq BV and Highrise BV found common ground in offering challenging solutions that comply to tough code-requirements. “We experience an increasing demand for certified products, generated not only by applicable legislation, but also from the market itself.”, according to Albert Hogewoning from Highrise. Being able to show clear compliance to standing requirements, clients ensure that their projects in (wind)offshore and infra can proceed unhindered.

Erik de Groot from Marteq adds: “More and more customers require additional documentation to demonstrate that the product adheres to their specific requirements. With Strongbridge we can meet the needs of these clients. This will further extent our range.” The Strongbridge products are in-house designs. The use of several standardized modules ensures swift and adequate solutions for the customers. Through this, Strongbridge work bridges combine high quality with efficient, economic production.

Strong together

The cooperation between the two companies originates from their membership of the Dutch Aluminium Association. Albert Hogewoning from Highrise explains: “This branch-organization stands for sharing of knowledge on aluminium.  Here we discovered that we both differentiate in supplying high-end products and services. Highrise is an independent engineering company, without a workshop. In Marteq we found the right production partner for these bridges.”

Marteq has been fabricating aluminium products since 2004 and is recognized market leader in the European market for aluminium gangways. Within Highrise, their team has vast experience with the design of met aluminium structures. Erik de Groot: “Highrise has supported us at various projects with additional design and calculations, for instance to ensure compliance to substantial windload-requirements. Strongbridge further strengthens the core-competences of both companies. We are proud that our high-quality bridges will help to create safe working environments.”

The Strongbridge designs are checked against Eurocode 9, to ensure compliance to European legislation. Next to that, the products can be designed in compliance with the requirements of other codes like Norsok, DNVGL and Lloyd’s Register. The bridges are made in The Netherlands from West-European materials by certified welders according to the EN 1090-3 fabrication-code for aluminium structures.
